The village of Embry is situated in the Embrienne valley, which is approximately 30 minutes from the very “Chic” & popular coastal resort of Le Touquet. Lovely sandy beaches go on for miles with a backdrop of sand dunes. Within 30-40 minutes drive you have a choice of at least 5 excellent golf courses. Other attractions are the battlefields of the first and Second World War. V1/ V2 rocket sites, museums, forts and memorials. Eurodisney & Asterix park a little over 2 hours by car or TGV. The market towns of Hesdin (famous for Maigret series) & Montreuil (Les Miserables) are 15 minutes away. You will find an excellent choice of restaurants and brasseries which offer menus for as little as 60FF (9 Euros). Both towns have excellent markets (Hesdin Thursday morning & Montreuil Saturday morning) where you can buy a host of fresh food including an excellent fish market & superb cheeses ! The ancient battle sites of Agincourt & Crecy are both close by. Bruges – one of the finest preserved medieval towns, Brussels, Lille, Monets gardens (in Giverny) are all within easy access. |
